Halal Bakery Products - Understanding Ingredients

Halal is an Arabic term that refers to a religiously approved dietary regimen with strict guidelines that are mainly based on Islam. A halal bakery is usually an establishment selling other baked products and desserts, both of which are usually prepared according to the Islamic halal religious rules outlined in the Qur'an.

Although there are no mosques that strictly enforce the eating habits of halal, it is generally believed that following this dietary path will lead to a more fulfilled life and a closer association with God. Many Muslims strictly adhere to its guidelines to be considered to be a Muslim halal. Halal or Islamic law demands that foods must be cooked and consumed according to Islamic guidelines. All food that is eaten in front of others must be clean and only boiled water is used for purification.

Halal foods include foodstuffs that are permitted to be eaten in two different sizes: large and small. In most cases, halal bakery products are usually large-sized cakes, pies, and cookies. In Canada, many halal bakery shops operate in every major city and most smaller towns. They specialize in preparing halal meals for commercial establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, and even ice cream shops.

Many people choose to visit a halal bakery for a special dinner or lunch break because the food is usually very tasty and a healthy alternative to unhealthy foods. In some cases, customers visit a halal bakery to indulge themselves and get a taste of the food they love, without having to make it at home. In some areas of North America, numerous ice cream parlors sell halal ice cream and sorbet.
